Camp Behavior Policy

BAAC / AATB primary goal is to provide the absolute best in summer fun and adventure in the safest and most enjoyable manner for all campers and staff.Proper, attentive and courteous behavior by all campers is a vital component in achieving this mission. Our discipline policy is to address any behavior which is contrary to this mission, immediately, fairly and directly. In most cases a simple counseling and redirecting of behavior is all that is required. In these cases we document the behavior and remind the camper of their expected behavior. In cases where repeated documentation and counseling takes place or where the seriousness of the behavior rises above a simple documentation, we include the parent in the correction and notification of the behavior.Reported behavior is classified as

     1) Document only (no parent notification)

     2) Minor

     3) Serious

     4) Very Serious

Examples of minor or not very serious misbehavior would be not correcting behavior already counseled in a "Document Only" behavior or not following simple but not serious safety instructions on outings.

Examples of Serious or Very Serious behavior would be behavior that causes a direct safety hazard or threat such as Bullying, Fighting, Hitting or other. These behaviors SHALL result in immediate suspension from camp whereby the parent is required to pick up the child. Depending on the gravity of the behavior immediate expulsion could be the end result as well.

Behavior of a serious or very serious nature as described above may result in termination of camp with no refund due. BAAC does not tolerate bullying, fighting or other dangerous or willfully harming behavior of any kind. Campers may or may not receive a prior warning of this type of behavior depending on seriousness of the bahivior addressed.

Other examples of Serious behavior would be willful ignoring of rules and counseling of matters previously addressed in #1-#2.
